Irrigation Audit Guidelines

The Irrigation Association has developed recommended guidelines to perform an audit of a landscape or golf course irrigation system.

These recommendations represent minimum guidelines to provide a degree of comparability and consistency for audit procedures in the irrigation industry. The IA guidelines:

  • Reflect current best management practices (updated September 2009).
  • Outline standardized fieldwork procedures, techniques and performance calculations.
  • Were developed with input from irrigation auditors, contractors, consultants and educators, validated through an open, industry comment period.
  • Incorporate American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers standards where possible.
