Advocacy Alert: Supplemental H-2B visa allocation
After advocacy by the IA and coalition partners, the Department of Homeland Security has announced nearly 65,000 additional H-2B visas for FY 2025, supplementing the 66,000 visas already available each year. This increase helps businesses address seasonal workforce shortages in industries such as landscaping, seafood processing, and hospitality, while protecting both U.S. and foreign workers.
The Irrigation Association has been a strong advocate for solutions like this to support the needs of our industry and ensure businesses have access to the workforce they require. These additional visas help maintain operations during peak seasons, strengthen local economies and reduce irregular migration.
