IA Times, June 2019

You won’t want to miss this year’s Irrigation Show and Education Week — Dec. 2-6 in Las Vegas! We’ve taken things up a notch and can’t wait to unveil the new opportunities for you to explore, connect and learn.

The new product contest will still showcase the best new products to hit the market. This year, the contest judging will take place on the show floor, giving more people the opportunity to hear about these great new products and technologies.

In 2019, the IA is co-locating with the National Ground Water Association’s Groundwater Week and the American Rainwater Catchment Systems Association. This is an advantage to you and your business with more to see and explore on the trade show floor and almost double the attendees to connect and network with.

The IA is taking advantage of being in the Las Vegas area and the exciting famous landmark water attractions this location has to offer. Two different tour options will be offered on Friday, Dec. 6. One tour provides a behind-the-scenes look at the world-famous fountains at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino, while the second tour shows the inner workings of the Hoover Dam, the 60-story tall concrete arch-gravity dam that attracts 7 million visitors each year.

The socializing and connecting events at the Irrigation Show are valuable venues to meet peers and expand your business contacts. The 2019 show will include the usual popular events and more! The opening night party will be a celebration of the lights and colors of Las Vegas. This party will also provide defined meeting spots for special interest groups to meet and connect.

College students will have new opportunities in 2019. E3 program participants will have the opportunity to meet with past IA presidents, and students are invited to showcase their latest irrigation research at a new student poster session on the show floor.

Those involved in state associations now have a special event dedicated to them. This new state association interactive roundtable is open to staff and volunteer leadership from state and provincial turf, landscape, agriculture and/or irrigation associations.

And if you’ve ever wanted to “connect” with your own Harley Davidson motorcycle, this year is your chance! The IA will be raffling a brand-new Harley during the show. Look for it on display as you walk the show floor.

You can expect new opportunities to grow your skills, learn best practices and keep up to date on the latest issues through the show’s new education week. Education week features IA University and Industry Insights.

IA University consists of core curriculum for core skill sets. These classes are offered every year to ensure you have the foundational and practical skills necessary to design, install or maintain an irrigation system, as well as the business skills to manage a small irrigation company. These classes require an additional fee, and preregistration is encouraged to ensure a seat.

Industry Insights are presentations on topics from research studies to practical irrigation skills to business management. They are designed to keep you on the cutting edge of irrigation trends that will ultimately help you grow your business. Choose from over 50 sessions covering agriculture, landscape and turf irrigation topics. Customize your content by selecting the ones that make the most sense for you. These sessions do not require preregistration and are included in your full registration.

No matter what sector of the irrigation industry you work in, the 2019 Irrigation Show has many exploring, connecting and learning opportunities just for you. Watch www.irrigationshow.org for regular updates and more information. Show registration will open in mid-June.
