Chris Apfelstadt, President, Light Up Columbus

Chris Apfelstadt is a proud husband and father and a passionate student of all things lighting. He started his first business (residential painting) as an undergraduate student at The Ohio State University and added holiday lighting services to increase business during the cold months. After holiday’s seasonal revenue outgrew the annual painting revenue, Apfelstadt sold his painting company and added event, architectural and landscape lighting. Light Up Columbus does residential lighting projects and focuses on larger commercial projects for municipal clients.


Matthew Broyles, CLVLT, COLD, President, Firefly Lighting LLC

Matthew Broyles has been in the landscape and Christmas lighting business in Atlanta, Georgia, for 21 year. He was an AOLP Board member from 2005 to 2019 and served as the AOLP president for many of those years. He is one of the founding members of the Certified Outdoor Lighting Design programs and continues to serve as vice chair of the Conference Planning Committee.


Chris Erca, illi Graduate, Owner, Outdoor Systems

Chris Erca has been a residential systems integrator for 33 years specializing in lighting control systems. When the outdoor market exploded, he was well suited to bring his lighting control knowledge along with his AV expertise to the outdoors. Now with the advent of more sophisticated outdoor lighting systems, Erca is excited and uniquely qualified to design and deploy these programmable systems for his clients.


Jared Everline, Director of Intelligent Products, S4 Lights

As the director of intelligent products at S4 Lights, Jared Everline has a unique opportunity to work closely with customers of all shapes and sizes while designing and developing product concepts into marketable solutions. Paul Gosselin has been in the outdoor lighting industry and a member of the AOLP since 2004. He also served several years on the board of directors as a director, secretary, vice president and president. In 2017, he published The Landscape Lighting Guide to help newcomers to the industry get started on the right path.


Luke Jensen, Owner, Lewes Lighting LLC & WeHangChristmasLights.com of Long Island

Luke Jensen is the owner of WeHangChristmasLights.com of Long Island, New York, and Lewes Lighting LLC. He and his wife started their Christmas lighting business in 2015. He went full time into lighting in 2018 and added landscape lighting in 2019. In addition to his lighting businesses, he is a certified trainer for the Christmas Lights Installation Pros Association and has helped personally train over 500 new installers across the country since 2018.


Ryan Lee, President, Landscape Lighting Secrets

After selling his multimillion dollar landscape lighting company in 2019, Ryan Lee started Landscape Lighting Secrets, a business coaching program dedicated to the landscape lighting industry. Although it wasn’t always easy and perfect, Lee had figured out ways to grow his lighting business faster and smoother than his competition. He now dedicates his time to helping others start and grow their own landscape lighting businesses and divisions. Lee is a host on Turfs Up Radio and has his own weekly show called “Lighting For Profits.”


Christopher Lucian, Director of Software Development, Hunter Industries Inc.

Chris Lucian is the director of software development at Hunter Industries. He is passionate about the advancement of software craftsmanship and Internet of Things technologies. Hunter’s teams focus on high quality and frequent deliveries of working software in production environments, increasing customers’ capabilities quickly and effectively. Lucian’s team explores the potential in all things when looking at processes with automation and creativity in mind.


Vince Nolletti, Consultant, Paige Electric Company LP

Vince Nolletti earned his degree in electrical and electronics engineering from the City University of New York in 1971. He has worked in the irrigation and lighting fields since graduating from college and has held various domestic and international positions from 1971 to 1995, including design engineer, technical service management, sales and marketing, product management, and president and CEO of a sprinkler manufacturer. From 1995 to 2018, Noletti was a partner at Paige Electric as executive vice president and chairman of the board. He is currently retired but continues to consult for Paige Electric.


Nick Schriver, CLVLT, President, Decorating Elves Inc.

Nick Schriver is the lead designer and general manager of Decorating Elves Inc. Decorating Elves is a premier outdoor lighting and holiday lighting contractor on the Gulf Coast of Florida. They specialize in large residential, hospitality, homeowners associations and retail. Schriver is a graduate of The Ohio State University in landscape architecture with a minor in business. He has been a resident of St. Petersburg, Florida, for 20 years, and he and his wife Julia have two children.


Michael Shulman, Principal Engineer – Lighting, UL LLC

Michael Shulman is a principal engineer at UL with over 40 years of product safety investigation experience. He has direct oversight of UL standards, technical decisions and certification programs for portable, low voltage, landscape, emergency, swimming pool and photovoltaic-powered lighting applications. He represents UL on the NFPA 101 (Life Safety Code) technical committee for means of egress and is a frequent contributor to the National Electrical Code revision process.


Ryan Williams, Director of Marketing, FX Luminaire

Born with two blue eyes, Ryan Williams has needed light to see from an early age and has grown quite dependent on it. From that visual perspective, he has led product development for FX Luminaire for almost 10 years in various engineering, product management and marketing roles. Williams is Lighting Certified through the Illuminating Engineering Society and holds a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science and MBA from Brigham Young University.
