Volunteer Leaders

Volunteers are critical to the Smart Water Application Technologies initiative’s success. Representatives from water providers and the irrigation industry donate time and expertise to identify and implement strategic priorities. Staffing and administrative support is provided by the Irrigation Association.

• The Executive Task Team provides general oversight for SWAT, coordinating efforts among the initiative’s working groups and serving as a liaison with the IA Board of Directors.
• The Technology Working Group develops science-based testing protocols for smart irrigation products and defines best practices for water-use efficiency.
• The Promotions Working Group works to increase awareness of the importance of water-use efficiency and develops materials that water providers can use for customer outreach.
